Nassau Coliseum Prepped For Season Opener

In just two days the New York Islanders will be playing hockey again at the Nassau Coliseum. Yesterday, photos were revealed of the prep.

Almost nothing can replicate the feeling as a kid counting down the days until Christmas. For adults, who are still kids at heart, the countdown to the New York Islanders returning home is about as close as it gets.

I genuinely can’t remember the last time I was this excited over a regular season hockey game. Ever since the day, the Coliseum doors shut, and the Barclays played host to the Islanders, fans like myself dreamt of the team returning to its rightful place, Long Island.

Now that this dream is becoming a reality in just over 48 hours is insane. Yesterday, photos were released of the prep work for the game on Saturday and my excitement shot through the roof like a kid tracking Santa through Norad on Christmas Eve.

Islanders legends Clark Gillies and Bobby Nystrom were in the building talking about how excited they were that the team was returning.

“Just being in the building it’s going to be very exciting on Saturday.” – Clark Gillies

It’s a big deal for a lot of people. Including both Mitch and myself. We will be there before the game on Saturday tailgating. Make sure you stop by our tailgate and say hello if you’re going to the game.
